Level 3: Life Skills
1. Positive & Negative Consequences- As a teacher I believe is it important to understand that all actions have consequences, either positive or negative, and students must learn to recognize this. (Wong & Wong 2005)
2. Highlighting Self Discipline- "Self discipline is what discipline is all about you can't teach discipline is students are always looking for treats, raffles, tickets, and goodies from the treasure box". (Wong & Wong 2005)
3. Help Foster Emotional Literacy - As a teacher I believe appropriate emotional responses are important both inside and outside of the classroom. Understanding individual emotional responses and feeling is something that must be taught.(Brackett & Kremenitzer)
4. Effective Listening Strategies- becoming an effective listener is a skill that will translate into later success in life. This skill must be taught through practice. It can help student understand themselves and others better. Understanding how to express oneself anf listen to others through activities like Socratic Seminar will foster understanding. (Pranis, )
5. No Fear of Failure- Students must be willing to try new ideas and not be affair of failing. I will encourage students to take academic risks.

1. Highlight personal choice within the classroom through due dates, reading materials, and grading so that students have independently identify what has positive and negative consequences for them.
2. Help students generate self motivation for behaviors by acknowledging their age and maturity levels.

4. Take a Meta-Moment; 1. Something happens 2. Sense 3. Stop 4. See your best self 5. Strategize 6. Succeed
